2-D Animations

All of these animations were created with After Effects and Lottie Files. These files are small yet powerful! They can be used in promotional video content, on websites or web apps, or in native applications.

Logo & Brand Animations

Logo and brand animations are created to be used on websites, in native apps, or in branded video content for marketing. These help reinforce the personality of the brand by combining movement and life. Borrowing from classical animation principles, aspects of a character get revealed through their movements. I love to apply this concept to logo animation to add depth to a logo beyond just a flat illustration. Whether it be playful little bounce of a squid clumsily trying to fit inside the first letter of the logo type or a sweet handwritten message on lovingly prepared food.

Loading Animations

A simple loading animation can drastically improve a user's experience with an interface. There's nothing more maddening than pressing a button and not knowing whether the app/page is loading or if the button is just broken. This little puzzle piece aims to prevent the pure rage that can result when one is confronted with such ambiguity. From a product development standpoint, a loading animation can also prevent a user from pressing a button multiple times and potentially causing an error where there might be an undetected bug.

Feedback Animations

Feedback animations are intended to let a user know that their action (in most cases a click) went through successfully. They can happen at the start or end of a process, before or after a loading animation.

Micro-Interactions

Micro interactions are what us designers refer to the little bits of movement that happen in an interface. These can be triggered by a scroll, a click, a hover, or just be going on in the background. They can be as pointless or strategic as you want, but always add a bit of life to an interface!
